Description: In order to divert truck traffic outside the city of Eilat, two bypass alternatives were assessed (9-12 km long), in comparison with the existing route through the city center (5 km long). The assessed alternative routes were found to be costly in comparison with the expected transportational benefit.

Amy Metom Role in the Project: Preparation of a transportation model and an economic model in order to assess the benefits and costs of the project.

Unique Elements of the Project: The project was assessed according to a unique transportation model developed for the city of Eilat.
